Hall Restoration

Community Hall Restoration fund:

The Whenuapai Village Hall has long been the centre of the Whenuapai community since it was built in 1955 mainly by volunteer labour using principally native trees milled on the site.

The hall is owned and maintained by the Whenuapai Ratepayers and Residents Association Inc, who pay an annual “peppercorn” rent to the Auckland Council who own the land on which it is sited.

Often heavily booked by various sports & community groups, dance and karate classes, private functions and gatherings, it is also used in TV advertisements and films from time to time.

The hall is available for hire via the email address bookings@whenuapai.org.nz

After more than 65 years the hall exterior requires recladding, as well as some interior refurbishment to current facilities.

The bill-board mounted outside the hall shows on a “thermometer” the target of $200,000 and that in excess of $23,000 has been raised already.

Donations are welcome and will be suitably recognised.  A dedicated bank account has been created for this purpose.      ASB 12-3039-0796601-02
