It is with great joy that the Whenuapai R&R announces the arrival of its new septic tank!! It has been a long, drawn-out and often frustrating process to replace the 1955 septic field, after the roots of the mighty Totara tree put an end to it. Thanks to HT Drainage and Earthworks for laying the new state-of-the-art system, and the Upper Harbour Local Board for providing funding. Special thanks to our chairman Kirke Campbell who put so much time and effort into making this happen (and he took the photos too!)

The Whenuapai Village Hall now has a defibrillator, for the use of the village community. Tonight at 7.30pm, Scott from St John will be at the hall giving a brief demonstration of how to use the AED equipment. Come along, have a Christmas mince pie, bring the kids for a lolly scramble, and the Xmas lights switch on. It will be fun - and it could help save a life.

Oh i am thrilled to hear it!! Did you know for every one minute a someone in cardiac arrest waits for defibrillation they loose 15% of their survival chance ...so if you can get it on them as fast as possible the much greater their chances. Thank you to whoever arranged that! Is it inside or outside?

The next working bee for the Whenuapai Restoration Group will be at the Waimarie Beach Reserve on Tuesday, December 5, from 4.30 to 6pm.
Work at the reserve has progressed to Stage 2: the uphill side of the road to the boat ramp.
If you haven't been down to see the work that's been done so far, pop down to the beach and have a look. Or bring your gloves and come and help on Dec 5!

Mark down Friday December 1 on your calendar for the annual lolly scramble and Christmas lights switch-on at the Whenuapai Village Hall. While the kids wrestle for candy, grown-ups can enjoy a free Christmas mince pie. Our famous hall lights will be turned on at dusk. Bring a drink, friends and family to the village hall from 7pm, and celebrate our great little village community.

Have you been missing our community noticeboard? Well it's back, but in a new location. You can now find village news and events posted in the noticeboard outside the Village Hall on Waimarie Rd. There will soon be a combination lock so you can post notices of your own. But only community news please - no business cards or commercial notices.
